Show CITffll IS ISSUED TO CEMENT COHI Commissioners Want to Know Why Parley's Canyon Road Was Blocked. At a meeting of the board of coun-t coun-t commissioners Wednesday morning a letter was drafted directing the Utah Portland Cement company to appear before the commissioners at 10 o'clock Saturday morning to show cause why it had blockaded the county roadway in Parloy's canyon without first having hav-ing secured pormission so to do. The road has been blockaded by the company's com-pany's crushers and a new road has been made around it, which twice crosses the railroad tracks. It. is declared de-clared that this road is dangerous and wjas constructed without the permission permis-sion of the commissioners. This is the second time the company com-pany has been cited lo appear .before tthc commissioners, the first lime the company contending that the notice was not received.' If the officials do not respond this time, however, legal action will be taken. A question as to the rights of the commissioners to grant licenses in the county to October 1 to saloon men operating op-erating at the time of the recent election elec-tion also is being considered by the commissioners. The county attorney has been asked for an opinion on this matter. A meeting of the bonrd will be held Thursday morning, after which the commissioners will visit various brick yards to make arrangements for the purchase of brick for the new county infirmary hospital exterior. |
