Show MORRIS SPENT II YEARS IN PRISONS Much Information Concerning Murderer Is Gathered by Sheriff. From information which Is being gathered gath-ered by Sheriff Joseph C. Sharp It is indicated that J. J. Morris, recently convicted con-victed of first degree murder for the killing of Joseph Wallace Axtell, has spent a large part of his life in prison. Sheriff Sharp has information which shows that Morris was convicted of robbery rob-bery and sent to the Colorado state prison in 189-1, being known as convict No. C5C0. He was sent up again to the same prison on May 3. 1808. Tblorris was committed to the Montana state prison at Deer Lodge February II. 1001, being known thero as George Hammond. Ham-mond. No. U58. He was released on parole pa-role February- 27, 1910. after serving nine years for robbery. It Is understood that he also served time in another prison, according to Sheriff Sharp's present Information, but the details have not as yet been secured. |
