Show ' MISS RITA WEST HURT. Caught In Jam at Lagoon Tuesday Night and Painfully Injured. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, July 5. Exhausted after several sev-eral hours' delay in arriving home, several sev-eral hundred Ogden people the rear guard of the crowd which visited Lagoon yesterday reached the city this morning morn-ing at 4 o'clock. In the rush which followed fol-lowed from the gates of the resort last night as the train for Ogden was preparing pre-paring to leave. Miss Rita West. 2217 Grant avenue, was knocked down, trampled under foot and pushed against a moving car, receiving a deep gash on her forehead and other Injuries which rendered her unconscious. A physician on the train attended her. anJ nfter being be-ing revived she was brought to Ogden and is now under tho care of a. physician. A lack of power to propel the heavily loaded trains on the Salt Lake & Ogden railroad Is given as the reason for the long delays which resulted in moving the homeward bound crowds. Although day was breaking when the last train reached Ogden from Lagoon this morning, morn-ing, the Ogden Rapid Transit company had a string of street cars at the depot to convey the exhausted passengers to their homes In the various parts of tho city. |
