Show PtISLiG Pli FI ZiOfl CHlLlEfl Proposition Is Being Advocated by Attorney Frank B. Stephens. A public playground for children is advocated by Frank B. Stephens iu a communication filed with tho city recorder Saturday for tho citj' council. Mr. Stephens suggests in his communication com-munication that a tract of land in block 30, plat F, north' and south of Bueno avenue, owned b3r the C1I3", be set apart for a children's playground. The tract is in two sections, ono plot being eight bv thirt" rods in area and the other four' by ten rods. Tho former fronts on Second South street and the lattor on Iirst South. The land, Mr. Stephens argues, is not valuable for othor purposes, but could easily be made attractive for a children's pla3'ground. This movement, Mr. Stephens also points out, is increasing in-creasing all over the United States, the desiro being to keep the children off tho streets and give them inuoccnt recreation as much as possible. Mr. Stephens asks that the communication communi-cation be referred to the propor committee, com-mittee, before which ho will then appear ap-pear and amplify his views upon the subject. It likely will go to tho public grounds committee. |
