There- was a brief hearing in Judge Morse's division of tho Third district court Saturday upon I ho petition of Mrs. Jennie 13. Parsons, wifo of Charles C. Parsons, general counselor for Samuel Newhouse, for an increase in her separate sep-arate maintenance from $125 a month to $200. The court could devote little time to the petition then, however, and after Mrs. Parsons had testified briefly as to her needs for more nlimojry I lie further hearing was continued until Friday afternoon. Mrs. Parson3 reiterated tho allegations allega-tions of her petition to the effect that the altitude of Utah is too groat for her and she must have a change of climate. She will need more money to maintain herself in another clinic, she asserted. Lately sho has boon' at Springville. she said, and it took approximately ap-proximately $100 a month just for her board, she said. Mrs. Parsons was represented by Wil-lard Wil-lard Hanson, former county attorney, while A. L. lToppaugh of Dey & Hop-paugh Hop-paugh appeared for Mr. Parsons. Cordelia A. Clark was granted a divorce di-vorce from George C. . f'lark on tho grounds of non-supporl., covering a period pe-riod of three years. Thoy wero married at Terro Haute. Tnd., April .11, .1903. Thero aro no children. In the divorce suit of Mrs. Marian Jlibbard against William Jlibbard, Judge Morse overruled Hibbard's demurrer de-murrer and gave Mrs. Jlibbard permission permis-sion to occupy the house without interference in-terference from Jlibbard. She also was given $10 a month temporary alimony. The couple were married here February Feb-ruary 11, 904, and have two children. Mrs. Jlibbard said that when they wero married Jlibbard told her that if she would build a house upon a piece of ground he owned he would deed her the ground. She built the house, sho said, but Jlibbard refused to make the deed. The order allows Mrs. Tlibbard to ro-main ro-main in the house pending the settlement settle-ment of the case, at least. She als.o was givon $2o attorney fees. |
