The Irish-American Athletic club of New York, which made such a wonderful cleanup in the Olympic games at Loudon, will enter a team of its best men in tho huge American Ameri-can Amateur Athletic union track and field meet at. the stadium of the Alasko-Vukon-Pncifie exposition at So attlo in August. This is the substance of a notice that has been received by William .Inglis. director of athletics at the exposition, from J. E. Sullivan, president of the A. A. U. The Irish-American club has entered en-tered heartily into tho spirit of the meet, according to Mr. Sullivan, The contest is the first great track meet that the west has ever held. Just what men will be sent bv the club has not been definitely settled. From advices received by Mr. Inglis. the list will include practically the entire nuiirber of Irish-American victors in the Olympic games at London, Sheridan, the greatest all-round athlete ath-lete in the world, and a veteran of .both the Athens and the London games, will be seen for the first time in tho west, tie is counted on by his club to win in several of he events of the moot. It has not yet. been definitely settled whether Shopard, the great Irish-American distance runner, will be able to compete. After his victories at tho London ganus, his physicians predicted that ho would novor be able to run again on account of a heart affection.
