AUTOMOBILE MEN 'TO ASSIST IN GOOD WORK Trip Over Route to Cache Capital Capi-tal Now Being Arranged Ar-ranged For. The excellent results obtained from tho good roads movement, started last summer by the Salt Lake Automobile club, has stimulated a movement for further action on tho part of a number of business concerns in order to obtain an improvement in tho roads between this city and Logan. Already ono of tho leading automobile concerns of tho city has started tho campaign by promising prom-ising to furnish ono or two big machines for tho use of leading citizens and press representatives for a trip to Logan in order to look over the situation and bring to tho attention of tho proper officials tho work which will havo to bo dono in order to placo tho highway in a first-class condition. It is expected that the trip will bo made to Logan in about two weeks. Charles A. Quigley of tho Studcbaker company com-pany said "Saturday that arrangements wero already under way, nnd that within with-in a few days details of the undertaking under-taking will be announced. It is pro- Eoscd to havo Governor Spry, Mayor rausford of this city, members of the city council, tho county commissioners, the mayors and city councils of Ogdou, Brigham City aud Logan present, as well as tho officials of other cities and towns along tho routo. Arrangements will be made to lako mairy of these over the entire routo and show them a good time. Luncheons and dinners will bo planned in the different towns through which tho tourists pass, aud thoro will also bo a number of mass meetings at different places to arouse a strong sentiment in favor of the movement. It is pointed out that tho coming of tho forty-third national encampment will bring into tho community a largo number of visitors, many of whom will want to seo moro of tho state, and tho offect on these people of tho good roads and other public improvements will be very great. There ia no intention to detract de-tract in any way from the progress of tho good work up to tho presont time, but it is felt that a good strong move-mont move-mont on the part of the people between hero and Cache valloy will bo productive produc-tive of everlasting good to the slate and tho community generally. |
