Show ACQUITTED MRS. SAMPSON TELLS VERSION OF CASE .LYONS, N. Y.. April 10. Mrs. Georgia Geor-gia Allvn Sampson, whom a jury last night acquitted of tho charge of murdering mur-dering her husband, Harry Sampson, a nephew of the late Admiral .Sampson, made the following statement today before be-fore leaving for her home at Macedonia: Mace-donia: "This has indeed been a good Friday Fri-day to me. God only knows what I have suffered, but I' stood it for my father and mother. "Dear, dear father, I never knew before be-fore what a father's love meant. 1 knew T would be acquitted when the trial came off and I was contented to Tvait. "Where was I when Harry was shot7 Well, T will loll you all I can. On the Saturday before Harry's death T had been to Rochester all tho afternoon. after-noon. When T came home I loft my good clothes in the cast room upstairs. T came down in tho morning and Harry was still wrangling. I was excited and don 't remember what was said. Father told me lo go upstairs and keep still. 1 was. hurl and went. away. "T first wont into tho oast room upstairs up-stairs and stood by the window. I saw father drive out of the yard. "T went into tho front room and tidied up I here. It was there I heard the outcry. It was about S o'clock. T ran downstairs and saw Harry tying on tho floor. He did not speak to me. You know tho rest. "T am innocent of any wrong in connection con-nection with my husband's death. T never wronged him in my life. J slaved for him, raised chickens to help him, raked hay with hi in to save expenses and 1 loved him more than my life. His memory is as dear to me today as anything any-thing L have left ou earth." |
