Show PRESIDENT CONSIDERS DUTIES ON HOSIERY WASHINGTON, April 10. President Taft today heard both sides of tho hosiery ta'riff question. A delegation from tho League of Cook County Women's Wom-en's clubs of Chicago called on him and presented a protest against the increased in-creased duties on gloves and hosiery. Tho delegation included Mrs. Nathan B. Lewis, Mrs. E. M. Hendorson, Mrs. Freeman E. Brown and Mrs. Helen Morris. Mor-ris. They were introduced by Representative Representa-tive Wilson. Tho delegation also will present their protests to the senate finance compiil-tee. compiil-tee. Tho other side of the' question was taken up with the president by a delegation dele-gation of hosier manufacturers from southeastern Pennsylvania, which declared de-clared that the rate of duty provided in tho Dingley bill was insufficient. |
