Show SURGICAL OPERATION RESTORES MAN'S MIND LOS ANGELES, Cab. April 10. Through an adroit, operation, performed by Los Angeles surgeons at the county hospital, Charles' Lawson, formerly a San Francisco broker, has apparently regained his normal mental poise after three years of peculiar aberration, following fol-lowing an injury received in the San Francisco earthquake and fire. Prior to that time Lawson was a sound-minded business man. His residence resi-dence collapsed during tho earthquake and Lavson was buried beneath a pile of debris. When extricated he .was suffering suf-fering from a wound ou the right, side, of tho bond at a spot whore he had been kicked by a horse in Missouri sixteen years before. In tho fire following the earthquaku Luwsop lost, till his property and shortly short-ly afterward came to Los Angeles with liis wife and two children. At times the man would apopar entirely en-tirely rational, though uaable to work because of almost continual illness. Again his brain would bocomc clouded; he would imagine himself a spiritualist or mind reader, and frequently left his home and disappeared for days at. a time. He was taken to the hospital and the skull raised at the point of injury. in-jury. Since the operation Lawson declares de-clares he has regained his mental balance bal-ance which he possessed before the injury. in-jury. The case is being watched with interest by many surgeons. |
