Harley Bright, aged 24, son of a prominent business busi-ness man of this place, Is dead, and Miss Esther Cck, aged 15. his sweetheart, Is fatally wounded as the result of what Is believed to have been a. murder and suicide, sui-cide, by, Bright Tho shooting occurred lato this after-non after-non at the Bright home, when nobody but the young man and Miss Cook w.oro In tho house. Shots were heard by neighbors, neigh-bors, who went to the Bright homo to Investigate. They found a rear bedroom barricaded and forced tho door opon. On tho floor lay Bright, with a bullet hole in I his temple, and Miss Cook shot through the eye. Near Brlght's form was a repeating re-peating rifle with two empty shells In the magazine. What led up to tho shooting Is not known, but It Is stnled that the couplo had quarreled over Brlght's attentions to I another girl. |
