Short was elected trustee for a three-year term, succeeding F. M- Smith, tho retiring trustee. trus-tee. A total of 405 votes was cast, H. M. Short receiving 1GU. S. L. Raddor 1C, and C. E. Smyera 79. At the close of the election. a meeting of the voters of school district No. 12 was held, at which there was Important business transacted. F. M. W. Hoyt, F. W, Sherman and William Doldgo. During the meeting F. W. Sherman placed the proposition of salar'esVor trustees trus-tees before tho meeting and thought thev wcro being paid too much, and suggested that their salaries be reduced to $400, instead of the present salary of $700. It was carried at this meeting that tho trustees trus-tees shall hereafter receive $400. The Fraternal Brotherhood had a programme pro-gramme and banquet at the Masonic hall last evening. In honor of an official visit from their supreme president, Jamos A. Foshay. A special meeting was held and twelve candidates initiated Into the mys terles of this popular order bv the supreme su-preme president, assisted by Dan Richardson, Rich-ardson, the president of this order. A well-arranged programme was given, which lasted until the early hours. |
