Surely the people of this city should rejoice in the words of Mr. C. R. Welch, a Denver visitor, in his forecast of the benefit coming to this city from tho building of the Los Angeles road southwest south-west to the coast, and of the Moffat road blther from Denver. The Los Angeles line Ib now so far advanced, and there 19 such energy displayed Iiv Its work, that It is now only a question of how long It will be, In months, until the through trains begin to run. Aa to tho Moffat road, Mr. Welch Is equally confident, saying that, if necessary, Mr. Moffat will build the? road with his own money. And Mr. Welch rejoices In thlt as he figures that It will also be a great thing for Denver, which ia quite true. But the .great things which these two roada will do for- Salt Lake City. are evident; the city will leap forward In giant strides, and will maintain every foot of its mighty advance.
