Show STRIKE IN BUI L VALLEY MOUNTAINS Modena Man Elated Over Result of Assays of Oro Samples Loft at Salt Lake. Special to The Tribune. MODENA, Utah, May 13. Norman Chrlsholm, owner of the Mammoth Mam-moth group of claims In the Bull Valley mountains, sixteen miles southwest of Acoma, Nev., has recently received returns from A. Ilanauer of Salt Lake City of some samples of ore which show the following values; 46 3-10 per cent alumina, $S to ?10 ln gold and 30 per cent copper. Mr. Chrlsholm ls much elated over the results of the assay and also feels much encouraged from reports received from other points to which he has sent samples. A small sample of thc alumina was sent to Niagara Falls, N. Y., and ho has been requested to send a larger sample there at the expense of those making the request. A sample was also sent to the Smithsonian Smith-sonian Institute at Washington, D. C-. and he has received a flattering acknowledgment ac-knowledgment from the officers of that Institute. A number of capitalists from New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles An-geles have recently Inspected his property prop-erty and they were all highly pleased with the outlook. The albumin ls abundant, there being be-ing a sevcnty-llve-foot ledge of It, and as there Is little other mineral with It, this rather valuable ore can be mined without much dlfllculty. J. C. Clapp. chemist, of Los Angeles, who recently visited the Mammoth clalmB, took 150 pounds of samples with him to Los Angeles. An-geles. Mr. Chrlsholm has not received any returns from Mr. Clapp, but he Is confident that the showing will be equally as good if not better than that made by the assay at Salt Lake City. Frank M. Wilson of the Johnny Gold Mining company ls at Statellne, overseeing over-seeing operations of the mine and mill. The mine Is looking better than at any time in its history. E. F. Frcudenthal, manager of the Manhattan Mining company's properties proper-ties at Ploche, accompanied by Prof. G. W. Maynard and several New York capitalists, passed through here yesterday yester-day enroute to Ploche, where thoy go to examine the properties of the company. com-pany. No one Is better qualified to assume as-sume the responsibility of the technical examination than Prof. Maynard, as many of the old-time bonanzas were founded on his Judgment. Reports from Silver Park, thirty-five miles northwest of Statcllno are flattering flatter-ing as to the ore finds In that vicinity. A number of mining men are headed that way. Uncle Jesse Knight is said j.o have thirty-five men at work In the development of his properties there and Is showing up some high-grade silver ores. |
