Show ENTERTAINMENT OF VISITORS Lunch at University and Ball at Chrlstensens for Provo Students The 260 Provo students were received re-ceived In room 15 of the University at noon where half a dozen long tables were spread with refreshments and decorated wIth flowers After failing to conquer in basketball the Varsity students endeavored to conquer tho hearts of their victors by serving them plenteous with sandwiches cocoa cakes and oranges Twentyfive young lady students of the University acted as walters In the evening the University Athletic Ath-letic association gave a ball at Chrls tensens which was to have been in honor of the contesting athletes ahd to furnish an opportunity for the students stu-dents of each Institution to mingle In friendliness at the end of the contest The unfortunate disagreement of the afternoon however seemed to show its effects at the ball for scarcely more than a dozen of the academy students were In attendance and these It was fancied showed an uneasiness at their presence The attendance nevertheless neverthe-less l was close to 200 persons and the ball was one of the most successful ever given by the University I The Provo students returned home at 11 oclock last night on their Short Line special from this city They comfortably com-fortably filled four coaches and if there was any Illfoellng It was not visible on the surface Fully 100 University students went over to the Short Line depot to see the Provo students oft and the two crowds mingled on the depot de-pot platform an though they had been bosom friends from the nursingbot tIc up All sang songs blew horns waved their scholastic colors and whooped It up until the train pulled out |
