Show Support Changes CLEARFIELD -Clearfield officials say they will support a recommendation from the Davis County Council of Governments Gov-ernments to include representatives represen-tatives of Hill Air Force Base and the Davis County School District on the COG board. ELECTED officials voted overwhelmingly to endorse the COG recommendation at a recent city council meeting. Representatives of the military milit-ary base and school district will serve as ex-officio, or nonvoting non-voting members, according to Mayor Donal Townley. COG MEMBERS recently asked that the two additional entities be included as ex- officio representatives because be-cause both HAFB and the school district are involved extensively ex-tensively in government issues. The military base has been targeted as a possible site for a proposed resource recovery plant which will be capable of converting garbage into useable use-able energy. WOODS CROSS, Sunset and West Bountiful have also endorsed membership of the entities on the COG Board. Each affected Davis County community must sign a resolution resolu-tion supporting the COB recommendation re-commendation before plans for additional membership are approved, mdm |
