WITNESSES SAID Mr. Johnson, off-duty and with his family, saw the accident and was attempting to free Mrs. Clark when her auto burst into in-to flames and caught fire to her clothes and hair. Mr. Johnson later said that he tried to get into the burning burn-ing car through the doors, but both doors were either locked or jammed. "SO I used my pole boots to kick in a window, open the right side door and pull the driver from the car," he said. "She was on fire and screaming for someone to please get me out of here.' " Mr. Johnson, a graduate of emergency medical training school, then treated the victim vic-tim until an ambulance arrived a few minutes later. MRS. CLARK is reported in fair and improving condition at the University of Utah Medical Center Burn Unit with severe burns over 15 to 20 percent of her body, grb |
