Show Rhyme And Reason SEEDTIME AND HARVEST Today as I look from my window at half-bare trees. At crimson and gold, gay-dotting the landscape over, I give grateful thanks to God on bended knees For flowers and fruits, for sun and succulent clover; That "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day And night shall not cease." The owl and the bluebird shall nest. We shall be gladdened alike by the sun's golden ray And storms, be they gentle or wild; that age follows youth, That earth is our home and around it the waters are curled, And we who are a part of it all, treasure each truth As seasons come and go and light illumines the world. by Zara Sabin |
