Show C. LLOYD WALCH - r Golden Date September 19, 1978 marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lloyd Walch of 39 East 1400 South, Bountiful. THEY WERE married on Sept. 19, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. At the time of their marriage they were residents of La Grande, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. Walch are the parents of four sons. They have 23 grandchildren. Their sons are presently living in Idaho, New York, Oregon and California. MR. WALCH is the son of Charles Albert Walch and Emma Walch, originally from Pima, Ariz., and later residing in Oregon and Idaho. He has spent most of his life in La Grande, Ore. He served a LDS mission in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. While in La Grande, Mr. Walch was employed by the Internal Revenue Service and later was appointed business manager of the La Grande Medical Clinic. In 1958 Mr. and Mrs. Walch moved to Bountiful where Mr. Walch accepted the position of business manager with the South Davis Medical Center. WHILE RESIDING in La Grande Mr. Walch served as a bishop, stake president and LILA WALCH patriarch in the LDS Church. Since moving to Bountiful he has served as a patriarch. In 1971 Mr. and Mrs. Walch were called to serve as president and matron of the Hawaii LDS Temple in Laie, Hawaii. Since returning to Bountiful, Mr. Walch has been serving as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. LILA WALCH is the daughter of Victor E. Bean and Mary Hannah Baker. Originally from Richfield, the Beans moved to La Grande, Ore. before Lila was born. Mrs. Walch spent most of her life in La Grande having been born and raised there. She attended public schools in La Grande. Mrs. Walch has always been actively engaged in civic and church activities. While in La Grande she was twice elected to the La Grande Board of Education and served as vice president of the Oregon State School Board Association. SINCE MOVING to Bountiful Boun-tiful Mrs. Walch has served as a member of the General Board of the LDS Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association and the General Board of the LDS Relief Society Association. |
