Show grjlmlno Fop lonflieoppoa 1 A very successful swimming swim-ming program for the handicapped han-dicapped has been in progress at the Bountiful Convalescent Center therapy pool since early July. Instructor for the program is Mary Landen, who has over 25 years experience teaching swimming swim-ming and who is also director of the South Davis Swim School. ALL TYPES of handicaps can be helped with this program in the specially designed pool. Wheelchairs can be wheeled right down the ramp with larger students who are non-ambulatory and too heavy to carry or lift into the pool. The water is kept at a very warm therapeutic temperature. tempera-ture. Students in the program range from two years old to adult, male and female and include such handicaps as Downs Syndrome (Mongoloid), (Mon-goloid), spinal bifada, hydrocephalic, spinal meningitis, menin-gitis, rheumatoid arthritis, amputees, polio, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis.
