Show Woods Cross By RUTH S. PAYNE 295-4287 The past week-end, with its superb weather, brought about lots of yard improvements and general clean-up. Garden spots were cleared in preparation for spring planting, and flower plots prepared. This year, let's all join togetherto give the city shine, not only for the Bicentennial, Bicen-tennial, but because we take pride in what we have and those who live around us. The City Park is again becomimg a haven of activity. Soccer players and tennis enthusiasts create the largest use at present, but springtime activities will bring forth ball teams in addition to family and ward reunions. Be assured, the summer of '76 will be enjoyable enjoy-able for everyone who takes the time to participate in the forth coming programs. Women's Basketball tournaments tour-naments have drawn lots of interest with regional tournaments tour-naments running through this week-end. South Boutnfiul 4th and 5th Ward combined team entered the final play-offs as the second place team from Woods Cross Stake. Captain for the group is Sherilyn Rowley. Team members are Judy Hammond, Judy Harris, Renee Evans, Lucille Wilkinsons, Wilkin-sons, Linda Mills, lleen Nelson, Nel-son, Anna Mossmanand Kathy Nattress. Congratulations to Bob and June Torkleson. They are parents of a daughter, weighing in at 9 lb 13ozai Holy Cross Hospital. They have four other children, three daughters and a son, who are all pleased with the new arrival. The Torklesons reside in Sorrento Subdivision. |
