Show Gains Eagle On March 28 Gary Winter was awarded his Eagle Scout award at the Bountiful Stake Court of Honor held at the historic Bountiful Tabernacle. Taber-nacle. THE SON of Farrell and Wilma Jean Winter, Gary was born at South Davis Community Com-munity Hospital on Feb 7, 1962. Gary is a member of troop 762 of the Bountiful 31st Ward, Bountiful Stake. He has been a deacons quorum president, Patrol Leader and senior patrol leader. Gary has been awarded award-ed two duty to God trail awards, the arrow of light award and also the citizenship award at Hanna Holbrook School. FOR THE past two years, he and his friend Paul Young have supervised basketball play for the eleven year old scouts in their troop. At Bountiful Junior High School, Gary was a member of the eighth grade basketball team. He loves all types of sports. SCOUTING started Gary in one of his hobbies - rabbit raising. His purebred dutch rabbits have won many ribbons rib-bons including "best of breed" at the Davis County Fair last year. Indian Lore and indian artifacts ar-tifacts are also among Gary's hobbies. An avid hunter and fisherman, Gary has a new shotgun and bagged his first rooster pheasant last fall. GARY WANTS to thank everyone who helped him in his scouting career and GARY WINTER especially the following: Mrs. Janet Jacobsen, his leader in eleven year old scouts, for giving him a good start on the path to his Eagle award; former Southmaster Gene Toolson and former asst. Scoutmaster George Merrill for their patience, help and many hours of their time. He would also like to thank the current scoutmaster and asst. scoutmaster of Troop 762, Stan Johnson and Jay Beck for their time and encouragement en-couragement which helped finalize Gary's attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. |
