Fpcjoiion HARRY PHILLIPS The Bountiful Utah East Stake Bicentennial production produc-tion entitled "The American Family 200 Years Together" is an original script written for the event by Harry Phillips and will be presented in the Regional Center 3 nights. May 6, 7, 8 at 7 p.m. MR. PHILLIPS, whose! writing has been utilized almost al-most exclusively in fulfilling church and civic assignments, assign-ments, has come up with one of his best efforts in the "American Family..." The script portrays in segments experiences relating to various key times throughout our 200 year history. Each experience is seen as it affects af-fects a family unit. This novel approach to replaying American history has provided Mr. Phillips with a wealth of material that translates into pure spectator entertainment. In one scene, a wagon train encampment provides dancing, tall tales, and along rifle shooting content. con-tent. Another scene re-lives the Civil War days as a family in the North, and a family in the South see sons leave for the battle, and another, the wild zany 20's with the Charleston. Blackbottom and speakeasies. HARRY PHILLIPS has created a masterful balance between drama, comedy, music and dance, while conveying con-veying the message that the strength of this nation is in Uie strength of the family unit. Harry Phillips is an executive execu-tive with a group insurance company in Salt Lake City and resides in Bountiful witn his wife Eve and their three children. THE VARIOUS segments of the production have been cast and are being rehearsed by unit directors in each Ward in the Stake. The Stake young adults are doing the roaring 20's segment. The entire production will be staged under the direction of George Stoll with Kent Lundquist as Music Director. The Audience will be earned from segment to segment seg-ment in just a matter of seconds by means of a unique method of staging on the round stage. Because of this only one half of the theatre's seating capacity will be used with seating limited to 1,500 persons for each performance. perfor-mance. THIS PRODUCTION is one of the many fine Bicentennial shows being produced on the Valley Music Stage by the Stakes in the Bountiful -Woods Cross region. There is no charge for admission.
