Show lauis Awaits Clatep SSiiiiy By DAVE WIGHAM The Davis County Commissioners Commis-sioners have decided to wait for the results of the Water Quality 208 study, before deciding on the solution to the drainage problem near the Oakleaf Subdivision. THE PROBLEM, which is approximately 3800 South above Orchard Drive in North Salt Lake, is that with the crown in the road the run-off water goes into the driveways. The street which the water will come down, 3800 South, has existing curb and gutter. But where the driveways to the homes are located, there is no curb and gutter and as the water builds up it will overflow onto property. THE PROBLEM seemed to be solved by county engineer Glen Austin, who made his recommendation to the developer and the planning commission. But when the commissioners commis-sioners received their copies, rejected the solution citing the overflow as a factor. THE recommendation Mr. Austin made was that the developers curb and gutter Hall Road then run a pipe along Orchard from Hall Road to 3800 South. The water would then surface sur-face and run down the existing exist-ing curb and gutter down to 3800SouthandHighway91. At that point a bigger drop in box would be constructed to handle the run-off. THE commissioners just didn't feel that the existing curb and gutter couid adequately handle all of the PLEASE TURN TO PAGE 2 County Awaits Study , On Wats, CONTINUED FROM 007 run-off water.
