Show Vandalism In Davis Schools? Will Sock Answer Davis County School Board has requested a report on vandalism in schools in the district to determine how much vandalism is costing. Sheryl Allen, school board member, asked for the report on the costs as well as documentation on how cases of vandalism are handled. SUPERINTENDENT Ber-nell Ber-nell Wrigley said glass breakage is a big part of the cost of vandalism and had grown to such an extent that the district had considered hiring a full-time glazier. The district gave up the plan, he said, when it was determined that the trucks needed to carry glass would be too expensive. ex-pensive. He reported that, in most cases, vandals are caught.. "Although sometimes we have to go into stakeouts in the area." Superintendent Wrigley said the school district dis-trict puts the pressure on the vandals or their parents to pay the bill and, if this fails, to have the vandals work out the costs. ASSISTANT Superintendent Superinten-dent John S. White will check requisitions from the schools on vandalism incidents and will report on the situation in the January board meeting, rk |
