Show UJIi Stimfiars Uin The Woods Cross Wildcats traveled to Granite High School this last week and came away with their second victory. vic-tory. The final outcome was Granite 76and Woods Cross 90. IT SEEMS that the new state's classification of 3A and 4A has not afiected the Wildcats Wild-cats ability to upset the larger schools. The Wildcats have been plagued with some illnesses which has sidelined two of Coach Maroney's top swimmers. Curt Calder and Jon Lee. THE WILDCATS 200 yard medley relay team was disqualified when one of the swimmers left before the touch of a fellow swimmer. However, due to tne depth of Woods Cross the Wildcats were able to finish second and third. Don Donaldson started the Wildcats on their way by winning win-ning the 200 yard individual. Herald Donaldson took fourth and Kevin Heber fifth. STEVE Kartchner swam his personal best time in the 50 yard free style with 2a 8 which gave him a second place finish. Richy Whitecar took . third and Steve Pryor finished fifth. Mark Huntington also achieved his personal best performance in scoring 115.25 points in the one meter diving board competition. Ryan Gee, a freshman, took fourth. DON Donaldson continues to break school records by lowering the lOOyard butterfly with a time of 1:00.1. Jon Lee, a freshman, who has been out of the water with an ear infection came to the aid of his team by deciding to swim at the last moment in the 100 yard butter Jon finished, second which gave his team a big boost. Larry Hansen continued con-tinued to lower his time in the 100 yard butter by finishing fifth with a fine time of 1: 14.0. DAVE HANSEN set a new school record in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.7 which was good enough for second. Ricky Whitecar finished third and Steve Pryor captured fourth. "Mighty Mouse," Bruce Kitchen took second in the 500 yard freestyle. Freshman Jon Lee took first and Kevin Heber , strolled in for fifth place. SCOTT Sappenfield turned in his usual performance in the 100 yard back stroke by winning a first. Another very good sophomore, Steve Kartchner finished second and Kent Nelson took fourth. Jeff Egly finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke. Ken Wagnon, another sophomore took fourth. SETTING A new school record In the 400 yard freestyle free-style relay was Kicky Whitecar, Dave Hansen, Steve Kartchner, and Jon Lee. |
