Show ! . I I ! - ' i Erma L. McConkie Service held for Erma McConkie Erma L. McConkie, 68, of Vernal died in Stewart's Convalescent Villa in Roosevelt March 17, 1982. She was born April 12, 1913 in Vernal to George O. and Florence Lola Winn Walker. She married Vivian J. Turner Dec. 21, 1932 in Vernal and he died Jan. 25, 1959. She married Ray La Von McConkie Mc-Conkie June 5, 1964 in Salt Lake City, and he died July 29, 1976. Mrs. McConkie was a homemaker, member of the LDS church, former primary teacher, MIA and Sunday School secretary and member of Rebeccah Lodge. Survivors are her son and daughters, Jay A. Turner of Orem, Mrs. Cleo Broome of Rangely, Colo., and Mrs. Voy (Elaine) Julius of Vernal; nine grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Owen Walker of Green River, Wyo., Neldon Walker of Canton, 111., Marvin Walker of Woodland, Wash., Lowell Walker of Orem and Mrs. Alice Lambert of Anaheim, Calif. Funeral services were March 20 at the Vernal Mortuary. Bishop Arden Stewart conducted. Gary Broome gave the invocation. Dawn White and Dorothy Peltier sang "Oh My Father," and Grant Southam spoke. Ronald Turner gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by Melba Eaton. Robert Broome dedicated the grave. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Kenneth Turner, Ronald Turner, Jim Turner, Eddy Julius, Jack Klun and Gary Broome. Honorary pallbearers were Voy Julius, Bill Bruchner, Kim Blackburn and Robert Broome. |
