Show . . . Obituaries Eugene Nicholes Eugene Nicholes died July 31 at his Salt Lake home. He was 89. ( He was born in Park City May 24, 1896, to Sidney and Amanda Wing Nicholes. He married Millie Wootton Dec. 26, 1918, in the Salt teke LDS Temple. He attended BYU and LDS Business College. Nicholes served an LDS mission from 1916-18 in the Australia Tasmania ? Mission. He served in many church positions, including Branch President in . , j Soldiers Summit in the early 1900s, and High Priest Group Leader in the Monument Park First Ward. ' He was a wool buyer, a cattleman, a manager of the American Fork Co-op f and an operator of a Soldiers Summit Commissary. He has just finished ! writing a book called "Church Among the Nations." T He is survived by his wife, of Salt Lake; daughter, Mrs. Blaine C. (Jeanne) Taylor; and son, Garrell E. (both Salt Lake) ; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Robert W. ; brother, Emery (American Fork); and Mrs. AllieGaupp (Salt Lake). ). Funeral services were held Aug. 3 at the Monument Park State Center, 1320 South Wasatch Drive (2400 East). Burial was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial . Park. Wave Peterson Jones , Wave Peterson Jones, a former resident of Park City, died July 31. She was born July 24, 1905, in Park City to Andrew and Maude Mills f Peterson. She married William Douglas Jones Oct. 9, 1924, in her home town. (f He died Nov. 28, 1982. She was a member of the LDS Church, the DUP and the Neighbors of I Woodcraft. She was action in the American Legion Auxilaries and was i former president of the Past Presidents Club. She was a retired 25-year employee from Hill Air Force Base and a k volunteer worker at Veterans Hospital. On July 28, she celebrated her 80th I birthday. She is survived by daughter Mrs. Lynn (Nelda) Daniels; sons, Rex Jones f: and Dean Jones (all Salt Lake); 15 grandchildren; and 30 great- I grandchildren. I Funeral services were held Aug. 3 in the Lincoln Ward Chapel (2005 South I Ninth East. ) Burial was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. |
