Show (DMtnaries Thomas Edgar Clark Dr. Thomas Edgar Clark, a former Park City physician, died Jan. 11 at his home ii. Sai.dy. He was 91. Dr. Clark was a gei eral practitioner and city physician here for about 15 " years. He worked from his office on Main Street in the late '20s apd through the '30s, said Park City historian Bea Kummer. He worked in the Miners Hospital, then located at the base of the present Park City Ski Area. He returned lo town when the hospital was dedicated in a new site as a library on Labor Day, 1982. Even then, Kummer said, he looked younger than his age. In his Park City days, she said, "He didn't look old enough to be a doctor." He also served on the Park City Board of Education. Dr. Clark was born March 24, 1983 in Manti, Utah to John Haslam and Therissa Emerett Cox Clark. He married Charlotte Parry on Sept. 15, 1917. in the Manti LDS Temple. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, did postgraduate studies at New York University at d completed internship at Pittsburgh's Mercy Hospital. After leaving Park City, lie practiced in Sandy for 43 years. Shortly before his retirement, he was honored as Physician of the Year by the Women's Auxilliary to the Salt Lake County Medical Society. ' As an LDS church member, he was a superintendent of the Sunday School and MIA stake superintendent for Sunday school and counselor to the high priest quorum of the slake. He also served as a member of the high council of the Sandy Stake for 19 years. He was a commander of an American Legion Post. He is survived by his 'wife'; 'children Mrs. Frank (Kathryn) Mumford, (Sandy), Janice Jensen, (Sacra'niento, California), Mrs. Lars (Gwei i Nielsen (Brigham City), Mrs'.' Robert (Carol) Dun ford (Kaysville), Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Cundick and Thomas H. Clark (both Salt Lake); 23 grandchildren and 50 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudia. . ,!' ' Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at the Sai dy Second Ward Chapel. Interment was in Larkin Sunset burdens i:, Sai dy. |
