Show Clyda Porter Named To Reign As Miss Iron County Lovely Miss Clyda Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gran-don Gran-don Porter of Cedar City, was named "Miss Iron County" at the coronation ball held at the CSU fieldhouse Friday, Aug. 30. Named as her attendants were Miss Norma Lee Mercer, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mercer, Mer-cer, Parowan, first attendants, and Miss Rose Ann Moyle, second sec-ond attendant Miss Moyle Is from Beryl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle. Miss Iron County of 1956, lovely love-ly Jackie Wlnterro6e, crowned her successor as the climax to a most enjoyable and successful evening under the direction of Mitchell Lunt. In addition to the crowning of the Iron County royalty a program pro-gram was presented, featuring top talent from the county, representing re-presenting the communities from which the candidates came. Representing Escalante Valley were Sherman Beacham and Carmen Taylor, who sang vocal solos. From Paragunah were young Misses Nina and LaRue Lamoreaux, who performed a Hawaiian dance. j From Parowan was a vocal trio composed of Elna Stubbs, Shirley Shir-ley Evans, Ramona Stubbs, ac companled by Itha Mortensen. Petite Dorothy Grimshaw sang a vocal solo on behalf of Enoch, and Summit was represented with a piano solo by LaRue Farrow. Far-row. Shirley Mclntyre performed a ballet number, representing Cedar Ce-dar City. Each of the queen candidates was Interviewed briefly by the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Major Claude W. Thompson. Miss Iron County and all of the candidates particpated in activities ac-tivities of the Iron County Fair over the week end and led the parade in Parowan Monday.
