Show Governor Proclaims State's Observance Of 'Make It Yourself With Wool Week' SALT LAKE CITY -Governor George D. Clyde has joined the governors of 17 other wool producing states in a nationwide talute to wool by proclaiming September Sep-tember 1 through 7 as "Make It Yourself With Wool Week." In issuing the proclamation. Governor Clyde pointed to the ( growing importance of wool in the Utah economy and in the agricultural agri-cultural economy of the nation. Urging the young women of his state to participate in the "Make It Yourself With Wool" contest, which is sponsored in Utah by the Utah Wool Growers Auxiliary t and the Wool Bureau, Inc., Governor Gov-ernor ClyJe pointed out that the efforts of the young women of today to-day to make their own clothing have a substantial influence on the marketing of Utah's wool. He added, "It is in keeping not only with the best in modern trends and training but also with Utah's Pioneer traditions that young women wo-men of this state should make themselves proficient in fashioning fashion-ing clothing of wool cloth." He called upon all civic leaders, educators and retailers throughout through-out Utah to take part in the observance ob-servance of "Make It Yourself With Wool Week." - Approved by the National Association As-sociation of Secondary School Principals, the contest provides the incentive for many young S?rls to learn valuable home sewing sew-ing skills while at the same time discovering how easy it is to sew I ..-; : ' ' ' J'H .'s I vr : ! !
