Show i W llll IM.l Margaret R. Sherratt Exchanges Vows With James Whitmore Miss Margaret Reveau Sher. ratt, daughter of Mrs. James H. Sherratt. was united in marriage to LaVoy Eugene Whitmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitmore of Granite, Utah. The wedding was performed by President Har. old R. Snow In the St. George LDS Temple, Friday, Aug. 30. A party of seventeen friends and members of the family witnessed wit-nessed the ceremony. A reception for the couple fea. turlng a program and dance was held the same evening in the Third Ward Recreation Hall in Cedar City. The bride wore a classical dress of lace over satin, with a fingertip finger-tip veil cascading from a tiara of lace and seed pearls. Barbara Sherratt, a sister of the bride. ,was maid of honor. Matron of honor for nuptial occasion was j Wanda Rowley with Gaylynn, Carolee, and Judie, sisters of the bride and Myrle Whitmore, the I bridegroom's sister, as brides-maids. brides-maids. All were dressed in dif-I dif-I ferent autumn shades of shim mering crystaline. Keith Whitmore acted as best man. Reid Sherratt, Leonard Rowley, Robert Walker and Mario Mar-io Whlttaker were ushers. Drama was the theme of the decorations and the program. That is the subject taught by Reveau In the Weber County High School last year. The walls and stage were banked with arrangements ar-rangements of cattails, wheat grass and. flowers In fall colors matching the dresses of the bridesmaids, and making a dramatic setlng for the three tier-ed tier-ed wedding cake. A mirrored garden scene was the center layer of the cake and minature bridesmaids dolls smiled from the trl-layered base of the cake. A humorus history of the bride and bridegroom was presented under the direction of Leonard Rowley, acting as master of ceremonies. cer-emonies. A song and reading were presented by the bride's sisters, Gaylynn and Carolee. Mrs. Brlttanla Durrant had charge of the serving and Mrs. Sadie Baldwin the gift room. Mrs. Beth Leigh and George D. Grimshaw furnished old fashioned fashion-ed music for dancing. Saturday the party Journeyed to Salt Lake City where the Whitmore family honored the couple In the LDS Institute on the University of Utah camDUs. Both the bride and groo;n are missionaries. She served In the Central States and he In the New England States mission fields. LaVoy has served in the military services and will graduate next spring from the U of U with a certificate to teach in the field of science. Reveau is a graduate of Brigham Young University. She has taught school in Kanab, Madera, Calif., and Ogden. She will return to Ogden to teach this fall where the couple will make their home. |
