Show Fair Enthusiasts Turn Out For County Event The weeks of preparation which went into the Iron County Coun-ty Fair paid off when some of the largest crowds In fair history his-tory attended both the exhibits and the entertainment features. The costum of Colleen Cox, the dress of Joeline Vanden-berghe, Vanden-berghe, both of Hamilton's Fort, and the dress of Judy Ashcroft of Cedar City will be sent to the state fair. A cotton dress made by Reglna Vandenberghe, Hamilton's Ham-ilton's Fort; a skirt made by Jane Bennett, Cedar City, and pajamas made by Claudette Smith, also of Cedar, will be entered In the State Fair. A demonstration team from Enoch, Avey Matheson and Lynn Grimshaw, will also po to the State exhibition with their dem-onstration dem-onstration on "How to Cover a Belt.M The food products of No-rone No-rone Mlckelson of Parowan and of Relle Whltelaw of Beryl, will also be entered. Club exhibits selected to be entered In the Salt Lake event are as follows: Clothing I, club of Hilda Grimshaw and Norma Carter of Enoch; Clothing It club of Huldah and Helen Hulet of Parowan; Clothing IV, club of Helen Stones, Paragon-ah; Paragon-ah; Foods I, club of Marie Pr-ton Pr-ton and Gretta Wood of Parowan and of Linda Carpenter and Ann Leigh of Cedar City; Foods III, clubs of Jean Anderson and Suzanne Su-zanne Morris of Cedar City, and of Helen Jones and Renee Vandenberghe Van-denberghe of Enoch; Foods IV, the club of Fern Leigh and Genevieve Gene-vieve Norrls of Cedar City. A number of record books have also been selected to be a Iran tn th Stat Palp. The parade, which was held on Monday morning, although not as large nor as varied as the one last year, was still a very good one and drew a large number num-ber of residents from thoughout the county to view it. Winners of the parade entries, as announced an-nounced by Amos C. Hatch, parade pa-rade chairman, are as follows: First In theme division, "Future Travel" by TrIH Club of -Parowan. Second, "Statue of Liberty," by Parowan American Legion Auxiliary. Aux-iliary. First In comic division, Cedar City Fire Department; second, sec-ond, group of clowns from Parowan Par-owan TrI H Club. First In miniature division was won by the Evans children of Parowan. The float carrying "Miss Iron County" and her attendants and the queens from other county towns was a very beautiful one. The Red Hill Wranglers of Parowan, took over the afternoon after-noon special entertainment for the fair commitee and produced what, in the opinion of the large crowd of spectators in attend- a nee, was one of the best equestrian eques-trian shows ever staged in this area. Programs were staged Sat-urday Sat-urday and Monday with a five race program Interspersed with riding and roping events and games. With Clair Hul.'t as emcee em-cee of each affair, the entertainment entertain-ment was continuous and never lagged a minute. |
