JT took Salt Lake two months and a half to win one ball game, and two minutes and a half to lose another. The Seals and the Bees quit even on the day's work and also are even up on the series, each club having won three games. The series will close today with ii double-header, beginning at 2 o'clock. The far-famed reconstructed game, left over from June 29, was won by the locals, 4 to 3, in the eleventh inning. The. second ; game was won by the Seals. 12 to 4. A tremendous crowd turned out to see the unique baseball event.' Never before has there been a reproduction of a tie or other kind of game in the Coast league. The crowd was so large that the start was delayed fifteen minutes or more in order that the fans might all get Into the park. . Seals Frighten Us. It looked as though tlie Bees were losers in (he tenth inning when the Sea's scored a run, but the locals tied it in their half and won out in the eleventh. Charley Baum "replaced" Al Gould as f linger. Johnny Couch. who was the original ; pitcher, heaved for the Seals. 1 Marty Krug was the lad who put the Bees on their way. Marty not only tied the score with a home run on June 29, but yesterday he also tied it with a single. Tii a issue was decided on two-base hits by Harley llaggert and Ernie Johnson, : made in succession. Baum continued as pitcher in the sec- j ond game, but his support was poor and i the Seals collected four runs, three of them ! unearned, before the Bees awakened to j i the situation. Baum was taken out for ; - n. pinch hitter in the fifth and Markle finished the string out. The Seals gathered gath-ered a total of seventeen hits off the pair. .Jimmy Cavenev hit two home runs in the second game. Earl Shelly knocked the i hal! over for Salt Lake and won. a ton of coal. Jack Bromley's left-hand slants were a deep mystery to the Bees until he lost control in the' seventh. Jim Scott completed com-pleted the game. Reconstruction Exciting. The reconstruction of the first game found Mulligan oh second base. Smith was sent in to hit for Byler and was passed. Spencer, hitting for Gould, forced Smith at second, Mulligan going to third. Maggert grounded out. The Bees, therefore, there-fore, had to be satisfied with the two runs they made on June 29. The Seals made one in the tenth. With Fitzgerald a fly-out. Hunter singled to center and Koerner did likewise. Corhan, who replaced Crandall in the batting order, or-der, bunted, and as nobody covered first base, he was safe and the bases were filled. Caveney's sacrifice fly scored Fitzgerald. Fitz-gerald. A walk for Kamm filled the bases again, but McKee flied to Mulvey , fo:- the third out. j The Bees tied the score again in their : h!f of the tenth. Johnson led off with I a two-bagger to right and Mulrey sacrl- I ficed him to third. He was run down when Sheely hit to Kamm, Sheely going to second. Kumler's hit put Sheely on third and Krug's single to left tied the score. Mulligan flied to Hunter to retire re-tire the side. The Seals got a scratch hit in the eleventh, elev-enth, but that was all. The Bees won w'th the one needed run in their half and they made it after a double play had retired the first two batsmen. The round opened with Koerner Koer-ner failing to hold Corhan's throw on Baum's grounder. Spencer hit into a double play. Maggert followed this unfavorable un-favorable event with a two-bajeger to Tight center and Johnson scored him with the winning run with another two-bagger. And thus ended a bit of baseball unparalleled un-paralleled in the west. Errors Are Costly. The second game was lost in the early innings, battery and fielding error's being be-ing accountable for the defeat. In the first inning Fitzgerald walked and tore all the way to third while Hunter was being thrown out at first. He scored when the umpire ruled that Baum had balked when the ball slipped out of his hand. In the second Caveney hit the fence for . v o bases and went to third when Mul-vfy's Mul-vfy's throw was allowed to go into the players' bench. It is Mulvey's misfortune that he is charged with the error. As a matter of fact, the mis play was due to the lack of alertness on the part of Johnson and Krug. At any rate. Caveney Ca-veney was on third and he scored on McKee's hit. The Seals made two more in the fourth on some more 'misplays. Johnson's boot pu' Caveney on. Baum manhandled Schick's sacrifice, and he. too, was safe, ("aveney stole third and scored on Kamm'fi infield out. I the fourth gave the Bees their first run. The Seals fattened with two In the fifth. Koerner's double followed by Ca.-veney's Ca.-veney's homer did the business. Two more were rung up in the seventh. With two out, Caveney and Schick walked, and hits by Kamm and McKee brought them in. Seals Fatten at Will. The Bees took advantage of Bromley's sudden attack of wildness In their half of the inning. Rumler and Mulligan walked. The former scored on a double by Smith, batting for Mulvey. Mulligan scored on Spencer's Infield out, Spencer having been sent in to hit for Byler. A I walk for Markle was the signal for Bromley's retirement, and Scott quickly retired the side. The Seals made four in the ninth. Koerner's single and Caveney's second homer of the game accounted for two of them. Schick singled, and, after Kamm's strike-out, McKee hit to loft. Smith's throw went to the grandstand and Schick scored. Fitzgerald's two-bagger scored McKee. The Bees made one In their half of the ninth. Smith' and Spencer hit safely. Smith stole third and scored when Dale, baiting for Markle, hit into a double play. Today's doubleheader will conclude the I Seal series. The Tigers will open an eight-game series here Tuesday.
