Show WEEK'S ACTiViTY sins wm i Total Value of Sales Made ! Is Almost Double That of Previous Period. Total business transacted on tha Salt Lake stock exchange for tho last week was almost double that of the week pre- vious. In fact, the total for the week of J 6?4,000 shares, with a market valuation of $14,7-2.33, excels by far any week's tola for a considerable period. The week has been one of considerable interest, for the rise of Silver Shield, activiity in Lelli Tintlc and Tlntic Standard all helped to dispel the gloom and torpidity which has prevailed so long. Yesterday's market displayed a decidedly decid-edly "spolty" nature. Silver Shield marie a rally of nine points to a close of 5453 cents. This was done iu the lace of heavy selling, a total of 9100 shares. The expensive ex-pensive stocks showed no change: 100 Stiver King Coalition sold for $1.00, Tintic Standard, with 700 sales, closed at S4.15, and South Hecla, with 100 sales, at J1.D0. Lehi Tintic, with 10,500 sales, displayed signs of weakness and closed at -1:2'J--cents, as compared with a close of 2324 cents on Friday. Prince was more active than usual; with 1SO0 sales, this stock closed at 42 cents. Alta Consolidated sold j at 9?i cents, Columbus Re.xall at 25 cents. Big Hill at 12 cents. North Standard at 13 cents and South Standard at IS cents. Alta Tunnel made an excellent rally from a close of 9U cents on Friday to a close of HVi cents. Black Metals, which enjoyed unusual activity, also strengthened; strength-ened; 11,000 shares of this stock changed hands and a closing price of IS cents made.
