PRESIDENT REVIEWS PACIFIC ARMADA IN SEATTLE BAY SEATTLE, Wash., Sept. 13 Promptly Prompt-ly at 2:45 the Oregon weighed anchor and moved majestically down the bay for the great naval review, passing in order the dreadnoughts New Mexico, flagship of Admiral Rodman, commander-in-chief of the fleet; Mississippi, Idaho and Texas. From each huge fighting ship roared salvos of twenty-one twenty-one guns in salute, while above, over the sparkling water circled two airplanes. air-planes. Passing on, the Oregon laid to and the scout cruiser Birmingham, flagship flag-ship of Eear Admiral Wiley, sped into view, leading the destroyer division of twenty-seven vessels, spaced about ,'iOO yards apart. From her sides began the presidential salute, to be taken up by each passing destroyer until the bay for several miles was alive with crackling crack-ling guns. The president stood bareheaded bare-headed throughout most of the review at a vantage point on the forward turret tur-ret of the Oregon. A mile down the bay the Birmingham Birming-ham swung about and, returning, led the destroyers past the Oregon's bow, the waves' cut by the speedy vessels bobbing about on the water like corks scores of gailv decorated uleasure craft which ventured almost into ,the very lanes of the warships. On each vessel of the fleet the sailors lined the rails at attention and bands flung across the waters the strains of the national anthem. Weighing anchor, the Oregon moved back towani her anchorage, passing the dreadnoughts Arkansas and Wyoming and scout cruisers Vermont, with Vice Admiral Williams, the North Carolina, Seattle and Georgia, anchored on the opposite side of the fairway. The Prairie Prai-rie and Celtic of the train moved into their docks. A naval tug and two submarine sub-marine chasers which had accompanied the Oregon to keep the fairway clear sheered away.
