The rising price of copper will be an incentive to many of the smaller operators of the district to ship, but the present price of lead, on the other hand, does not'encour-Hge not'encour-Hge some of the operators to continue, ; according to the Mining- and Scientific Press. The Gold King Extension Mines company, after a successful mill run of several weeks, closed down to make some changes In the method of treatment. It 1b expected that operations will be resumed re-sumed at an early date. Should the project prove feasible, jt would afford an outlet for the extensive bodies of low-grade ore as well as the large dumps of this district. The rise in copper is encouraging many producers of this district operating upon copper ores to continue. Among the leading shippers affected bv the favorable copper market are the Dora Consolidated company, operating oper-ating through lessees; the Champion-Leasing Champion-Leasing company, operating the various levels of the Champion through lessees, and the Anvil Leasing company, at the present time developing the Emerald Lode. The Garfield Smelting company has leased the Silver Lake property to J. B. Giono & Co., which is getting out ore from the main workings. No. 4 level Is being operated by a force of sublessees. The Tip Top Leasing company ceased operations op-erations after working over one of the dumps of the property. Among the properties prop-erties to be reopened, after lying idle for many years, are the Idaho and the Tom Moore. The Empire State Mining &, Reduction company is to build a mill, ; and no further mining operations will be I carried on until it is completed. It is reported that there is a large body of good milling ore blocked out.. The Mayflower May-flower Leasing company continues to develop its property. Heavy shipments are bein made of high-grade silver concentrates. con-centrates. The Highland Mary Leasing company has subleased sections of the mine various local men, and the workings work-ings are beintr developed extensively.
