Show Women Are Stranded fit Cedar Breaks Overnight Sixteen miles across rugged mountain country and an overnight over-night stay in the cool climate of Cedar Breaks National Monument Monu-ment would pose a problem for anyone. Three women from Panguitch, Grace and Lulu Dickerson, a mother and daughter, age 50 and 70 and a third woman, did Just that Thursday evening of last On a trip from Panguitch during dur-ing the day they became stuck in & snow rtrifi on the road leading lead-ing to Mammoth Creek on the turnoff on Cedar Mountain just a few mile Last of Duck Creek Springs. When they could not get their car going they took off afoot, apparently ap-parently cross country, and ended end-ed up that evening at the Ranger Rang-er Station at Cedar Breaks Na-' Na-' tional Monument. The distance was estimated at about 16 miles. When they failed to return Thursday evening law enforcement enforce-ment officers began a search for them and they were found early Friday morning by Garfield County Sheriff George Middleton. They were able to get into the Ranger Station through a window win-dow then used mattresses In the building to attempt to keep warm. Needless to say the sight of Sheriff Middleton was a welcome one for the threesome, who were returned to Panguitch Friday. |
