Show PTA Distributes Safety Booklets to Students A special Parent Teachers Association As-sociation assembly was held this past week at the South Elementary Elemen-tary School at which time a specially spe-cially prepared booklet on safety and special awards were presented. pre-sented. Mrs. Alma Kunz was given a citation from the U. S. Treasury Department for her efforts in conducting the U. S. Savings Stamps program during the past year. It was also reported that the South Elementary PTA was the recipient of the History Awards for Standard Achievement pre- sented by the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers. Mrs. Both Brooksby was the historian. Following the awards Chief of Police Anton Lambert spoke to the students on safety in connection con-nection with the safety booklets presented to the children. The booklet was published for the first time at the South Eelemen-first Eelemen-first time at the South Elementary Elemen-tary by Mrs. Norma West, safety safe-ty chairman; Clement Adams, principal, and Dale LeFevre, teacher-artist. The booklet, which was illustrated, illus-trated, presented safety rules for the home as well as school. |
