Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWIHG By Virginia Webster EN AV ANTES . For the Wednesday evening social of the En Avante Club, emphasis was placed on a popular popu-lar best seller, 'The Sand Pebbles", Peb-bles", by Idaho's author, Richard McKenna. Genevieve Gardner reviewed re-viewed the book, a story revolving revolv-ing around a U. S. Navy Gun Boat and China In the 1920's. Setting Set-ting for the regular get-together was the home of Mrs. J. M. Palmer. Pal-mer. Sixteen members were in attendance. '"Tuesday evening Wanda Dock-stader, Dock-stader, president of , the Lady Elks, invited the organization leaders to her home where she served a deliicous home made Piza Supper. Spending a pleasant pleas-ant time together at the Dock-stader Dock-stader home were Bonnie Leigh, Francis Holyoak, Marian Rosen- berg, Donna Reid, Wanna Hoyle, lone Lambert, Janet Whitehead, Nadeen Nelson, Mildred Thompson, Thomp-son, Pharrol Adams, Lilly Hazel, LeOnia Miller, Barbara Hunter, Lois Qulnn and Jo Hartman. HH CLUB Providing another interesting book review as entertainment for her club associates was Elene Jensen. Mrs. Jensen discussed some of the Civil Defense aspects of the book, "Children of the A-Bomb" A-Bomb" by author Osaga. The lesson was given Thursday afternoon after-noon to 12 members of the HH club who met at the home of Mrs. M. L. Christensen. In Cedar City over the week end was Dee Simth of Las Vegas. He was a guest at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith while in town. Pinochle club was held at the home of Virginia Webster Tuesday. Tues-day. Members of the group welcomed wel-comed a guest. Ruby Webster, for the occasion which was the last get-together until early fall. Spending Monuay until Wednesday Wed-nesday In Salt Lake City on a business and pleasure excursion were Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sanders. Making a motor trip from Salt Lake City was Miss Gayle Knell.
