Library during the. month of August. - ;V Local artists . display watercolors - Artists Bonnie Hacking and Michelle ; Solmonson will be displaying water-color water-color paintings at the Uintah County Library during the month of August. When asked why they chose to learn to paint watercolors, Michelle said she . liked the light and airy feeling water-colors water-colors give. Bonnie said she considered watercolors a challenge. Both have been working with the medium for approximately ap-proximately two years. Michelle has a motto, "Anything that is important enough to you, you will make time for it." They both set goals and started painting. pain-ting. Michelle especially likes painting rural landscapes. Bonnie paints three pictures a week. She specializes in painting pain-ting historic homes, which she loves. She has a room in her home set aside for her hobbies. Bonnie and Michelle have taken lessons from Maureen Spencer and John Davidson. They received inspiration inspira-tion and training from Doug Lee of Heber. Their advice to anyone who would like to learn to watercolor is to find a good teacher. Both are mothers. Michelle has three children and is married to Ron Solmonson, Solmon-son, who she says is her best critic. Bonnie Bon-nie has five children and hubby, Ed Hacking, encourages her hobbies. Bonnie has many interests. She en- joys sewing and sews most of her own and her daughters clothing. She has even made her husband's suits. She loves antiques and shows off her collection collec-tion in her remodeled home which uses old brick, windows and trim. She won a national prize in the Great Quilts of America contest in 1976 sponsored spon-sored by Good Housekeeping, the Smithsonian Institute and the United States Historical Society. The quilt was an original design. She also enjoys silversmithing-making silversmithing-making jewelry mountings. However she is saving developing this talent until her children are older. Michelle also has many varied talents. She arranges flowers, designed her own home and does ceramics and pottery. She enjoys cording, spinning, weaving and dying her own yarn. She has made many beautiful wall hangings from her own wool. She also makes Patiks wall hangings, dying and designing design-ing her own fabrics. She loves gardening garden-ing and the out of doors. Michelle believes in keeping physically fit and is an avid swimmer and jogger. The public is invited to visit the . library and enjoy Bonnie and Michelle's watercolors all during the month of August.
