Mr. and Mrs. Grant Brough and grandchildren of Randlett, Utah attended at-tended the open house held at the Manila LDS Ward Chapel Saturday, Aug. 1 for Robert and Cathlene Ellsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Redden visited at the home of Neal's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Redden this weekend. They attended the open house for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ellsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Robinson and son Michael of Placentia, Calif., arrived in Manila Saturday afternoon in time for them to attend the open house for Riley's nephew, Robert Ellsworth. Richard Chase Ellsworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ellsworth, was blessed Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Manila LDS Church. Bishop William M. Briggs was assisted by Gaylen Jarvie, Brian Smith, Leon Jensen, and the baby's father. Manila LDS Primary children presented a special program entitled "Primary International" at the Manila LDS Church on July 31. Each class presented a dance or sang a song from various countries. The nursery class represented Anerica and had a parade. Besides songs from the different classes, the entire Primary sang "I Love My Land" and "Children Around the World". The program ended with the breaking of some pinatas. Each class displayed items from the country they represented. Refreshments were foods from the countries the classes represented. People of Manila are busy preparing for the Daggett-Sweetwater County Fair to be held in Rock Springs, Wyo., Aug. 4-9, Tuesday the M&L Club which is in charge of the Manila booth at the fair will collect vegetables', fruits and sheaths, at the Senior Citizen Center. Silvia Rosser will be in charge of the decorating of the booth. The 4-H members will be entering livestock. Clothing has already been judged and modeled. Cooking items will be taken to the fair by both 4-H members and adults. Handicrafts and arts will be entered. The 4-H leaders are preparing to be at the fair through the weekend. |
