Show Skating Rink To Open Here Soon A new business is to be opened open-ed here in the near future. The old creamery building has been purchased . from the Hi-Land Dairy Co. by Woodrow Wilker-son, Wilker-son, of Duchesne. He plans to convert it into a skating rink, and living quarters for his family. fam-ily. The building is being remodeled re-modeled as rapidly as possible. The following Union High students from Neola participated in events at Price last Friday, Saturday and Monday: Chorus Lila Horrocks, Sheren Henrie, Jenette Smithson; track Blaine Horrocks; band Warden Olsen, Carolyn Whiting, Phyllis Es-kund Es-kund and Jenalee Keel. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mitchell, of Salt Lake City, spent Saturday Satur-day here at the home of his brother, D. F. Mitchell. Mrs. W. E. Glines and Wayne Davis, of Salt Lake City, spent a few days at the Glen Davis home. Mrs. Glines came to attend at-tend the funeral of Mrs. Julia Kettle. Cpl. Wayne Smithson, of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; Miss Denza Bouck, of Magna; Ronald Opp, of Ogden, and Miss Afton Smithson, of Bluebell, were visitors at the Smithson home over Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. v Kate Peterson and Phyllis Wardle visited the Primary Conference Con-ference of the Roosevelt and Randlett wards last Sunday evening, eve-ning, as representatives of the stake Primary board. Orlan Oman, of Boneta, was a guest last week of Franklin Spencer. The M. A.' Harrison home received re-ceived a new paint job last week. Friends of Gary Horrocks helped him celebrate his birthday birth-day last Sunday afternoon at his home. Games and refreshments were enjoyed. Fifty-seven enthusiastic square dancers gathered at the Neola chapel last Wednesday evening. The group from Maeser ward, Vernal, joined with the local group. A pot-luck lunch was served at the close of the dance. Mrs. Jay B. Horrocks and daughter returned to their home in Salt Lake City last Sunday, after spending the past month here at the Theron Horrocks home. SUNDAY GUESTS Members of the Neola bishopric bishop-ric and their families were dinner din-ner guests at the Charles Croz-ier Croz-ier home last Sunday. Present were Bishop and Mrs. Richard Olsen and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gardner and two children and the Crozier family. The construction of the new home of Fred LaRose, situated along the Neola-Roosevelt highway, high-way, is going forward rapidly. The baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mirl Jennings was christened chris-tened Lanette by her grandfather, grand-father, Theron Horrocks, in Sacrament Sac-rament meeting last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Jenkins and Franklin Spencer left last week for Rawlings, Wyoming, where they will be employed by an oil company. Mrs. Byron Kimball, pf Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, visited here Sunday with her sister, Mrs. James O. Peterson. Peter-son. Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer attended the Golden Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Tidwell in Duchesne. Victor Horrocks, of Salt Lake City, was a business visitor here the fore part of the week. W. K. Dye was a business visitor in Vernal last Monday. Sunday School Faculty meeting meet-ing was held for the month of May, last Monday evening in the chapel. The lesson on "How Many Sides Has a Triangle?" was given by Ruth Jensen. Visiting Vis-iting members of the stake Sunday Sun-day School board included Byron By-ron O. Colton and Mrs. Linck, of Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson, of Roosevelt, were Neola visitors last Sunday. Visitors at the Deone Spencer home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Seeley and Darrell Chisholm, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Erickson, of Spanish Fork. M. A. Harrison made a trip to Salt Lake City the fore part of the week to get building material ma-terial for the new home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Bolton, of Bennett. |
