Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Funeral Held Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Kettle were held in the Ballard chapel April 29. Bishop Golden Collins presided. W. K. Eve of Neola, and Wendel Johnson John-son 'were the speakers. Mrs Ruth Jensen, of Neola, read a tribute to Mrs. Kettle; Ferris Henrie and Mrs. Phyllis ' Wardle. of Neola, sang a duet; f Mrs Erma Anderton, of Roosef-velt, Roosef-velt, played a violin solo; the Singing Mothers, of Ballard, sang one number, under the direction di-rection of Osa Hullinger. Burial took place in the Vernal Ver-nal Cemetery. When the family returned from Vernal they were served i lunch at the Kettle home, under the direction of Mrs. Minnie Angus and Mrs. Julina Butcher. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Semper, i and Mr. and Mrs. George Brack- j en went to Bennett on Thurs-l day night and joined those there in square dancing. John Smith and Cecil DeMille, from Vernal, did repair work at the Alterra school last Thursday. I The Relief Society stake board sent out letters urging the mothers moth-ers in the ward to come out and participate in Relief Society. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bingham 1 and two daughters, of Salt Lake ! City, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hewitt was blessed and given the name of Marilyn Rose at Fast Day meeting, meet-ing, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simper and ' family, of Glines, were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Simper, on Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tidwell, of Smithfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Neilson, of Salt Lake City, have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. A Brighton. SLUMBER PARTY Afton Mangum entertained a group of seven girl friends at a slumber party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mangum. one evening last week. ;to!t,glr Wed fried chicken steak and banana cream pie for their supper and had a breakfast break-fast of hot cakes, before going to school the next morning. Wayne Cook is enjoying a visit at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Westwood, at Range- .Mr and Mrs- Glen Stanley took their daughter, Kay, to Vernal Ver-nal on Saturday, to consult a doctor. |
