Show NEOLA Lecta Horrocks i Primary Cited Special recognition was given the Neola Primary at the recent stake Preparation meeting. During the past six months, an average ot 84 of its officers and teachers attended the monthly meeting. This was the highest percentage reached by any ward in the stake. Mrs. Jerry Powell and children, of Duchesne, visited here last Wednesday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Dellis Spencer. Mr and Mrs. Don Jensen took their' daughter, Karen, to Salt Lake City last week for medical attention. TWO FAMILIES MOVE r" Two families have moved from this locality during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Mitchell are locating in Crescent on the Cook farm. The Shanks' farm in Utahn will be the future home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Anderton. Mrs. Kent Nelson has recently accepted the position as Group 2 leader on the Primary stake board. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Dellis Spencer that their son, Rawlin, is enroute home from Korea, and should arrive home about May 15th. NEW CLUB ENTERTAINED Members of the Opti-Mrs. Club met at the home of LaRene Bas-tian Bas-tian last Monday. Guest speaker was Tal Wardle, who explained parliamentary procedure to the group. Other details of the organization's organ-ization's activities were taken care of, after which light refreshments refresh-ments were served by the hostess. Present were Barbara Jensen, Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Harrison, Nita Horrocks, Gussie Yack, Colleen Gardner, Ber-niece Ber-niece Yack, Dahlea Dutson, Marvel Mar-vel Malnar, Sara Nelson, Lurrine Duncan. Friends of Gary Horrocks gathered gath-ered at his home last Thursday to celebrate his twelfth birthday. Games and party refreshments were supervised by his sister, Arake, and Rosalee Brown, of Montwel. Principal and Mrs. Merrill Dutson Dut-son and two daughters were Salt Lake visitors last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Duncan have recently placed a new fence around their lot, which adds much to the appearance of the townsite. LaVon Dye and Shirley Clow-ard Clow-ard were home from Provo for the weekend, bringing with them two friends, Miss Opal Tryon and Miss Colene Ware. Melvin Bingham has accepted the position of secretary for the , YMMIA. His wife, Glenda, wa: sustained at a teacher in the Y ' W.M.I.A last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Harrison motored to Price last Sunday, where they were called by the illness ill-ness of Mrs. Alfred Harrison. The Jay Larsen home was made happy last week by a phone call from Dallas, Texas, announcing the arrival of a new granddaughter granddaugh-ter She will hang her bonnet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Jane) Zimmerman, of that city. TO CLEAN CHURCH Bishop Richard Olsen invites all ward members who can, to help with the spring clean-up of the chapel and grounds, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 7. Work will begin at 9 o'clock in the morning. Two little girls received names and blessings in Fast Day meeting last Sunday. The daughter of Mr. i and Mrs. Evan Olsen received the I name of "Kathleen;" Mr. and Mrs. I Jay Larsen of Roosevelt, brought their infant daughter to have the name "Amy Jane" bestowed upon her. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harrison visited last Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Coon, of Vernal. The family were former residents of Neola. Two brothers and a sister welcomed wel-comed the new son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Duncan when he arrived ar-rived home with his mother last Sunday after a few days at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mr. and Mrs.- Milton Ricks and family have moved into the Herbert Her-bert Anderton home. SURPRISE PARTY Cherie Wilkerson was the honored hon-ored guest at a surprise party last Wednesday afternoon, the occasion oc-casion being her tenth birthday. The affair was held in the school room, where a program was given by class members. Ice cream, cake and candy were enjoyed by the group, after which Cherie was presented pre-sented with many useful gifts. Het teacher, Zora Gardner, was aided by her aunt, Lillian Wilkerson.
