Show Welfare Income In County For '54 Shown At $207,66 A total of $207,066.13 income in Duchesne County during 1954 came through the Welfare Service, reports Clarence D. Moat, county public welfare director. Out of this amount, $198,806.43 was for assistance payments; and $8,259.70 was for welfare service such as administrative salaries, office of-fice rental and general office supplies. sup-plies. Number of families receiving at-sistance at-sistance through welfare services in 1954 in this county were 237, numbering 368 people. Classification Classifica-tion of assistance to these families fam-ilies include 145 receiving old age assistance; 39 receiving aid to dependent children; one receiving aid for the blind; 28 receiving aid for disability; and 18 receiving general assistance. These figures show that 18 more family cases are listed on the Duchesne Du-chesne County welfare rolls than in 1953, and assistance payments amounted to $1,006.96 more. In 1954, welfare payments averaged av-eraged $70.44 per person listed on the state rolls, compared with the average of $45.07 per person on the rolls of Duchesne County. Large quantities of commodity goods were distributed the past years as a welfare service in this county in addition to the assistance assist-ance payments. |
