Show Lucky Thirteens Fete Parents At Nature Program Parents of students in Mrs. Ida Phillips' fifth grade were entertained entertain-ed last Friday at the Lucky 13s Nature Club Program, held at 1:30 p.m. at the Elementary School. The Lucky Thirteens, the name the students selected at the beginning be-ginning of the year, were in their glory as they paraded their new Lucky Thirteen T-shirts and hats for the first time. Master of ceremonies for the cleverly arranged program was Doyle Wilkins. He was assisted by every member of the class in presenting the nature club program, pro-gram, consisting of the advancement advance-ment of the club flag, songs, stories and skits. Prizes were presented pre-sented by Mrs. Phillips to the students acclaimed winners for making the best bird feeders and and best bird houses. Punch and cookies were served followed by a Softball game between the two fifth grades, with the Lucky Thirteens winning 5-3. The next project undertaken by the class will be a Mother's Day tea, scheduled for Friday, May 6. |
