Show Sixty-Six Awards Presented At Court Of Honor Held At Ballard Chapel; llext Court Set For Ioka On June Fifth i Sixty-six awards were given last Sunday, May 1, at the monthly month-ly Roosevelt District Court of Honor held at Ballard. Darrell Atkinson, At-kinson, member of the District Advancement committee conducted the program. Brent Hutchings, Troop 750, Douglas Labrum and Charles Timothy Tim-othy of Post 2750 received their Life badges as the highlight of the Court of Honor. Bishop Alva Snow, Roosevelt Third ward, presented the L.D.S. Religious Scout award to three Explorers of Post 2750 Shirl Rawlings, Roland Jenkins and Lynn Alexander. For the third time out of four, Troop 750, Roosevelt Third ward, won the Advancement Ribbon of the month. Explorer Post 2750 was second, and Ioka Troop 264 was third. First Class badges were awarded award-ed Shirl Rawlings, Post 2750, and Benny Riding, Troop 253. Second class badges were earned earn-ed by Ronald Christensen, Troop 257; Lewis Fausett, Post 2253; Dale ' Hansen, Troop 750; Glen Page, Troop 252; Merrill Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, Troop 252; and John Tew, Post 2257. Explorer apprentice awards were presented by James E. Bacon Bac-on to Jerry Murray, Lewis Fausett, Fau-sett, Bob Ailen, Theo Anderson and Almie Moulton, all of Myton Post 2253. Den Chief Chords were placed on Buddy Holgate, Troop 253; Merrill Mer-rill Rasmussen, Troop 252; Steve Howard, Troop 260; Dee Peterson, Troop 250; and Scott Murdock, Troop 750 by their scoutmasters. Merit badges given Troop 264 of Ioka were: Jim Drollinger, Animal Ani-mal Industry; Bart Killian, Reading Read-ing and Scholarship; and Alton D Percival, Home Repairs. Post 2750 received 16 merit badges. David Dickerson received Citizenship in the Home, Mark-manship Mark-manship and Citizenship in the Community. Weather, Journalism, Citizenship in the National, and Citizenship in the Community were awarded Charles Timothy. Shirl Rawlings, also of -Post 2750, received Citizenship in the Community, Book Binding and Railroading. Douglas Labrum received re-ceived Markmanship, Citizenship in the Home and Citizenship in the Community. Ronald Jenkins earned markmanship. Gordon Bas-com Bas-com was awarded Home Repairs and Wood Carving. Pat Roberts, scoutmaster of Troop 251, received home Repairs and Woodwork. Wood Carving and Home Repair Re-pair merit badges went to Kent Sullivan, Troop 751. Jerry Murray, Post 2253, received re-ceived Fishing and Animal Industry; Indus-try; and LaVon Edwards earned Wildlife Management and Citizenship Citizen-ship in the Home. Terry "Huxford, Troop 250, earned merit badges in Fishing, Home Repairs and Art. Salesman ship, Farm, Home and its planning and Machinery were presented to Dee Peterson, Troop 250. Other Scouts of Troop 250 receiving re-ceiving merit badges were: Larry McDonald, Book Binding, Machinery Machin-ery and Farm, Home and its Planning; Plan-ning; and Stacy Luke, Home Repairs. Re-pairs. The six Scouts of Troop 750 received 16 merit badges. Awarded were: Marksmanship, Dairying, Public Speaking, Scholarship, and i Horsemanship, to Scott Murdock; j Fishing, Citizenship in the Home, Basketry, to Brent Hutchings; Home Repairs and Fishing to Dale Hanson; Marksmanship to Blaine Gardner; First Aid, Fishing and Leatherwork to Billy Hall; and Fishing and First Aid to Steve Bellon. A total of 139 attended last Sunday's Court of Honor. The next one is slated for June 5 at Ioka at 3 p.m. The Board of Review will be JVlay 25 at 8 p.m. in the Junior High Seminary building. |
