Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Workers honored At Ward Party The primary officers and teachers held a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger in honor of Mrs. Wendel Johnson and Mrs. Dean Frandsen. The husbands were invited along with the Bishopric and wives. Games were played and all enjoyed an outdoor lunch. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. " Frandsen each received a gift. Mr. and Mrs. Darell McMullin and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph O'Neil of Price, enjoyed a fishing trip to the mountains last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Smith, of Whiterocks visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Parrish on Monday. The Smiths returned return-ed recently from a trip to Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Broderick of Salt Lake City are the proud parents of a baby boy and Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Rasmussen are the proud grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Alden White and their three younger children child-ren have gone to Idaho to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Simper and family. Mrs. Lynn Bracken who is employed at the Bank in Tooele spent the past weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. David Clark died at the Vernal Hospital last week. The Clarks were former residents of Alterra. Mrs. Karl Shisler and two small daughters returned home last week, after staying at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mont Po'ulson, at Duchesne. Herman Baumgartel is employed em-ployed in Salt Lake City at present. GOES TO COLORADO Frank Bingham enjoyed a short two day pass with his parents Mr .and Mrs. Charles Bingham. Frank left Monday for 'Colorado where he will be stationed. He has been in Texas for several months. Miss Mary McConkie from Salt Lake City is visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Junior Betts. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cannon of Parowan have moved into the Costuro apartment near the Earl Hatch residence. Misses E V a and Essie Sprouse, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sprouse, spent the weekend of the 4th with their parents. Both girls are employed in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Mohl-man Mohl-man and family of Bountiful visited over the 4th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd. Jay Gates who is in the armed services spent the weekend with friends in Ballard. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Johnson John-son and family of Los Angeles spent some time visiting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ercii Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Johnson. NEW WARD CLERK Norman Angus was sustained as assistant ward clerk in Fast Day services on Sunday. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squires was one of merriment mer-riment over the holiday when they had seven car loads of relatives and friends with them. Mrs. Lawrence Brighton and Mrs. S. A. Brighton motored to Salt Lake City on Saturday. Mrs. S. A. Brighton remained there for a visit. Mrs. Lambert of Vernal visited visit-ed with Ballard friends on Sat. NEW LUNCH STAND "Buzz" Larsen has opened up a lunch stand at his gas station, this past week. Keith, Max and Howard Todd and Byron Bolton are playing on the Bennett ball team this summer. On Saturday they were victors in the game at Altamont. Patsy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger, was operated on for appendicitis in the Roosevelt Hospital. Mrs. Sanford Butcher returned re-turned this week from Okla., where she had spent a month visiting with relatives. She was accompanied home by her mother, a brother and three sisters, who will spend some time here. The following babies were blessed in Fast Day services on Sunday: son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Betts was named Leland M.; son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn McClure was given the name of Thomas Edwin; son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Smith was named Jesse Robin and the son of Mr and Mrs. Jack Cook was named Vaughn L. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins Col-lins had visitors from Ogden to spend the weekend with them. They were friends of their son Boyd. Pres. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon and two daughters were visitors at Fast Day exercises on Sun. Mrs. Leland Angus went to Provo where she attended leadership lead-ership week recently. Mrs. George Bracken and Mrs. Elton Kettle visited with their aunt, Mrs. Nora Matthews one afternoon last week at Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Butcher and relatives from Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Butcher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Butcher Butch-er and Perry Butcher, enjoyed a trip to Greens Lake on Sunday Sun-day afternoon. There is extensive remodeling being done on the home of Jack Allred near the Ballard school house. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd and Joanne, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Todd, and Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Far-rell Mohlman and family of Bountiful were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ber-nard Winkler at Bluebell on Sunday. The occasion being Mrs. Howard Todds birthday. There will be a junior geneology meeting at the chapel on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Smith of northern Calif, were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kettle on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham, Bing-ham, Frank Bingham and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton and children visited at Mr. and Mrs. Keith Snyder's on Sunday. & |
