Show Carter Oil To Brill Mew Well Near Vic Brown's Ranch Itae A telegram dated July .2 was- received from the Carter Oil Company through their chief scout, W. A. Crutcher, of Denver, Den-ver, and verified by George E. Wagoner, division manager of Denver, and Verne E. Farmer, district geologist at Vernal, announces an-nounces they are preparing to drill a new wildcat in the Bluebell Blue-bell unit. The new wildcat, the No. 2 Bluebell Unit, will be located on the 26,255-acre Bluebell unit oned jointly by Carter Stand-olin Stand-olin Oil and Gas Co. and Superior Su-perior Oil Co. of California. Of particular interest locally is the fact that the well is being be-ing drilled on the Victor Brown ranch at Monarch. According tcf Mr. Brown, he annually raises a vegetable garden about 500 feet from his ranch home, and the pin-point location of the planned well is between two rows of tomatoes in his garden. According to the information contained in the telegram the wildcat is scheduled to test a 7500 Greenriver formation, and is located 2Vz miles east of the No. 1 Bluebell Unit Wildcat that was abandoned in May, 1951, after drilling at a total depth of 12,518 ft. It is approximately 10 miles northwest of the City of Roosevelt, and about 8 miles west of the producing wells in the Roosevelt pool near Bennett. Ben-nett. Carter Oil is presently building build-ing roads and leveling sites preparatory pre-paratory to moving in rotary drilling tools and equipment. |
